Paradise of Azaleas and Dogwoods in Bloom
One day excursion – March & April
Travel by motor coach and let someone else do the driving over the eight miles of trails through elegant Tyler neighborhoods to see the azaleas, spring flowers and dogwood in bloom. It’s been called by many a “floral wonderland and a photographer’s paradise.” At certain spots you will be able to see the displays and take pictures from the sidewalks as your route meanders along woodsy streets. WE suggest your tour date be timed during the midweek so the traffic will be lighter. There’s no easier and more relaxing way to enjoy the springtime floral extravaganza!
Tour Highlights
In addition, your day will include private tours of two very special homes:
- The Goodman-LeGrand Home. Built in 1859, this spacious 19th century mansion in authentic condition speaks of the small town way of life in East Texas…full of antiques and memorabilia of the period.
- The Bonner-Whitaker-McClendon House. This 1878 Eastlake style dwelling was the childhood home of famed Washington, D.C. correspondent Sarah McClendon. As a living history museum, the home depicts the lifestyle of Tyler over the century from the 1870s to the 1970s.
